Servicing your motorcycle suspension is critical to its safety, handling and longevity. The function of motorcycle suspension is to ensure the bike remains stable, comfortable, and controllable under various riding conditions by managing the forces between the road and the bike. There are several primary reasons your suspension performance will degrade over time:

 

• The oil in your suspension will degrade and lose the properties which allow it to function properly.

• The oil will become contaminated with dirt water and other particles which can block the tiny oil passages in your suspension valving.

• Dust and oil seals will wear, allowing the suspension fluid to leak out and grit to enter the system, further accelerating wear.

• Most shock absorbers are pressurised with Nitrogen gas. This gas leaks out over time and allows the oil to cavitate, ruining your suspensions damping.

We recommend you service your suspension regularly to prevent these issues. Oil and seals are consumable parts, designed to be changed before more expensive components such as bushings and fork tubes start to wear due to contaminants!

At Damping Dynamics, we strip, inspect and rebuild all types of motorcycle suspension. We don't just change the oil and hope for the best, each suspension unit is fully stripped down to the individual shims and given a thorough cleaning. Any worn or damaged parts are replaced (with the customers consent) before being re-assembled with high performance fluid, leaving your suspension in as-new condition!!
